Corina Ann Jones Mack, daughter of the late Porter Victor Jones and Rachel Morgan Jones was born in Chase City, Virginia on November 24, 1939. She received her wings after a brief illness on January 2, 2019. Corina Jones went to West End High School near Boydton, Virginia and received the bachelors degree in Business from Virginia Union University, where she also sang in the Concert Choir. After college, Corina taught a semester at J. Sergeant Reynolds, substitute taught, spent a great deal of time working with the Boys and Girls Club, and worked for the Metropolitan Business League. She was a managing partner and owner of JAM Contracting and Services and MCC Sports Wear and Associates, for over a decade. She also worked for the Virginia Employment Commission. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Concord Baptist Church in Chase City, Virginia. Later while attending VUU she joined Mt Tabor Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia under the leadership of Rev. Dr. C.S. McCall where she served on the board or trustees, The Constitution and By Laws Committee, sang in the C.S. McCall Choir, Senior Choir and her all time favorite choir The Voices Of Tabor, directed by her life long friend and sister Mrs. Bettie Page. Alexander. In her recent years, she fell in love with and attended Garland Avenue Baptist Church where she sang in the Sanctuary Choir, served and worshiped until now. She was a member of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Las Amigas Incorporated Chesterfield Chapter, West End High School Alumni, Golden Age Group (Senior Ministry at Mt. Tabor) Chase City Connections, and the former President and current member of The John W. Barco Chapter Virginia Union University Alumni Association. “Sister Jones” is survived by devoted former husband of 34 years and best friend Henry Mack; daughter, Rachel C. Mack; loving granddaughter, Aysia L. Rogers and a host of godchildren nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom loved to travel, shop and appreciated good food. She loved to sing, joke and laugh. She was a confidante, a leader, true friend, and was quick to remind you that the “The Jones came before the Mack”.
