James Russell Andrews Sr. age 85, of Richmond, died January 3, 2003 at Richmond Community Hospital. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His native home of Emporia, Va. was an integral part of his life, even after relocating to Richmond. He had been a member of Little Shiloh Baptist Church in Emporia, and later united with Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Claiborne Andrews; daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Aldrich G. Callins of Birmingham, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law, James and Sheila Andrews of Lynwood, Calif.; grandchildren, Bethany, Chelsea, Aldrich D. ''Richie,'' Timothy and Attorney A.V. ''Lynn'' Callins of Birmingham, Ala. and Jonathan Andrews of Broken Arrow, Okla.; sisters, Ida Ware and her husband, Otha of Chicago, Ill.; Julia Williams of Norfolk; brothers, Robert and Edward Andrews Sr. (Theary) of Emporia; sister-in-law, Rosalie Adams of Richmond; brothers-in-law, Jonathan Claiborne (Lena) of Ft. Washington, Md., Marion Russell (Joyce) of Willingboro, N.J.; a host of nieces and nephews, including devoted Dorothy Starks (James) of Washington, D.C., Brigitte Andrews, Cheryl Jones and Edward Andrews Jr. (Yolanda), all of Richmond. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Moore Street Baptist Church, 1408 W. Leigh St., where funeral services will be held at 12 noon. Dr. Alonza Lawrence officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens, Glen Allen.
