Margie Stevens Adams"Mar-lee", 62, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, Margie peacefully closed her eyes on March 20, 2009 surrounded by scores of family and friends. Now with the Lord , she may continue his work free of all pain & provide care for us all from above.

Daughter of Dorothy Stevens Lowry and Manuel Walker who are both deceased. She is survived by a LOVING and DEVOTED husband of 43 years, Deacon Curtis E. Adams, Sr. of Glen Allen, VA. ; three children, Darshelle Sykes (Anthony) of Highland Spring, VA, Kerri Adams-Pair (Reginald) of The Colony, Texas, and Curtis, Jr., of Glen Allen, VA; . Margie is also survived by seven beloved grandchildren, Kendra, Anthony, Jr., Michael, DeAnthony, Reginald, Jr., Jeremiah and Cameron; two brothers, Raymond and Robert Stevens both of Richmond; two aunts Rosa Stevens and Beatrice Walker; one uncle Samuel Walker; three brothers-in-law, Ralph Banks, Sr., Earl Sr., and Robert Adams; four sisters-in-law, one devoted, Rebecca Banks, Kay, Kathy, and Lucille Adams ; a host of nieces, nephews , cousins, several devoted , Barbara Davis, Audrey Rhone, Carlton and Olando Stevens, Corrine Walker and Brenda West, other relatives and friends, among them her devoted friend Phyllis Muse. Margie dedicated her life to serving the Lord and helping others. As a founding member of Unity Baptist Church of Richmond, VA, under the beloved Pastor Barbara J. Wynn leadership, Margie flowed in many church auxiliaries such as Choir Director, Deaconess, and Trustee.

An Alumni of Armstrong High School, she attended Madden Business School. During her professional career she worked at WWBT 12, Best Products, Phillip Morris, Circuit City, Stanley's Furniture Store and Home Care By Professionals, Inc.

The family humbly extends a Thank You for all the prayers, well wishes and continued support. We are blessed by love. A special thanks to the nurses and techs of Henrico Doctor's Hospital.

Remains rest at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. on Thursday 10 AM until 8 PM Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Sharon Baptist Church located at 22 E Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Rev. Dr. Paul A. Coles, officiating Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Remains will rest in church one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Margie Adams Memorial Fund, P. O Box 9774, Richmond Virginia, 23228.
