Overview of Cremation

The number of people choosing cremation has increased significantly in the past few years, because the cremation process simply hastens the natural process that occurs after ground burial.

What is done before or after the cremation is up to you and your family.

Contrary to what some people believe, Cremation does not limit choices, but, in fact, increases one’s options to memorialize your loved one in traditional or non-traditional ways.

Importance of Memorialization

Memorialization provides a permanent and appropriate place for your loved one's cremated remains to be placed, and for family and friends to honor the lives of the deceased.

Some families choose to keep the cremated remains with them at home, or to scatter the remains over land or water. Chiles Funeral Home would be honored to assist you and your family with the many memorialization options we offer.

Memorialization Options for Cremation

Outdoor Niches – The cremated remains of your loved ones may be lovingly placed in one of the many above ground columbarium niches in the cemetery or equipped church cemetery of your choice.

Scattering – Your loved ones remains may be scattered within a dedicated, natural environment within the cemetery or equipped church cemetery of your choice. Scattering in the oceans, seas or body of water is also an available option.

Traditional Burial – In ground burial – Urns may be buried within their own grave space or shared space with a previously deceased loved ones Urn.

Personalized Memorialization – Inscribe your family member’s name and a special saying on a tree plaque, park bench or other special memorial.
