Samuel Lee Williams went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2019. He was born September 15, 1963 to the late Junius Carey Sr. and Lillian Ward Williams. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sonja Renee Williams.

Sam was baptized as an infant at two weeks old but rededicated his life with baptism on March 30, 2019. Seeking God diligently, Sam received the precious Gift of the Holy Ghost on May 22, 2019. Sam graduated from Maggie Walker High School, which he tells everyone that he graduated from the Governor’s school. He spent most of his career driving trucks for companies such as FedEx, Wilson, Estes, Fallen, and Pennsylvania Steel. Sam loved life, serving people and traveling. He also loved to cook and bake. He never met a stranger and was helpful to everyone. He loved music and mentoring musicians who he referred to as “My Guys”. His passion was playing the bass and watching his mentees grow. He was a faithful member of the MEDIA TEAM of New Covenant and a bass guitarist at S. I. Edwards Memorial Church. Sam enjoyed working in the church and was inspired by Pastor Cynthia Perkins. His last response was to the message sent by Pastor Perkins and the scriptures sent. His mouth moved as if he wanted to say something. Juliette replied, “I know what you want to say, you want me to tell her you love her too”, he nodded yes!

He enjoyed the ministry of feeding the homeless each week which included purchasing and cooking food. He worked with the music teams at both New Covenant and Pilgrim Journey. We will miss a great asset to our family, the body of Christ, and the world.

He leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters, Sierra and Samantha Williams; one granddaughter Arden Williams; six brothers Junius Carey Jr (Charlette), Oliver, Willie (Gail), Bernard (Kim), Cornelius, and Kevin (Bianca); two sisters, Antoinette Morris (Charles) and Juliette Fenner (Isaiah); seven aunts, Francis Dade, Nancy Ward, Harriett Hillard, Verlene Williams (Theodore), and devoted Margaret Wilson; four uncles, Walter E. Williams (Earlene), Charles Coleman (Denise), and Joe Burnette; six nieces; seven nephews; three great nieces; three great nephews; father and mother-in-law Lee and Delores Irvin; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, devoted friends Theodore Wescott, Leo Brooks, Stephanie Jiggetts, Colleen Hairston, Susan Davis, and Jennifer Burruss.
